By using ZipLove, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our Service.

1.1 Information You Provide to Us

When you create an account and use ZipLove, you provide us with:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender
  • Profile Information: Photos, bio/description, preferences
  • Location Information: ZIP code (used to assign you to a local territory)
  • Messages: Communications you send to other users through our messaging feature
  • Payment Information: Billing information for subscriptions and event tickets (processed securely by our payment providers)
  • SMS Opt-In: Your consent to receive SMS notifications (optional)

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use our Service, we may automatically collect:

  • Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
  • Usage Information: Features you use, profiles you view, app interactions
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, app crashes, performance data
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: Our website uses cookies to improve your experience

1.3 Location Data

We collect ZIP code only. We do NOT:

  • Track your GPS location
  • Track your location in the background
  • Collect precise geolocation data

Your ZIP code is used solely to assign you to a local dating territory.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide Our Service: Create and manage your account, match you with other users in your territory
  • Facilitate Communication: Enable messaging between matched users
  • Send Notifications: App notifications, SMS messages, and emails about matches, messages, and account activity
  • Process Payments: Handle subscriptions, event registrations, and merchandise purchases
  • Improve Our Service: Analyze app usage to fix bugs and improve features
  • Safety and Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
  • Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and respond to legal requests
  • Customer Support: Respond to your questions and support requests

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 With Other Users

Your profile information (name, photos, bio, age, general location) is visible to other ZipLove users in your territory. Your messages are visible only to the recipients.

3.2 With Service Providers

We share information with trusted third-party service providers who help us operate our Service:

  • Supabase: Database hosting and user authentication
  • Firebase: Push notification delivery
  • Telnyx: SMS message delivery
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management
  • Square: Event registration and merchandise payment processing
  • Resend: Transactional and marketing email delivery
  • Framer: Website hosting

These providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.

3.3 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, such as:

  • To comply with a subpoena, court order, or legal process
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of ZipLove, our users, or the public
  • To investigate potential violations of our Terms of Service
  • In connection with a business transaction (merger, acquisition, or sale)

We DO NOT sell your personal information to third parties.

3.5 SMS Communications

SMS Notifications

If you opt in to receive SMS notifications, we use Telnyx to send you:

  • Account verification codes
  • New match notifications
  • New message alerts
  • Security notifications

Your SMS Rights

  • Opt-In Required: SMS notifications are optional. You must actively consent by checking the SMS opt-in box during registration.
  • Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any SMS to unsubscribe immediately
  • Help: Reply HELP for assistance
  • Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your activity
  • Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply

SMS messages are sent via Telnyx from: 805-329-7461

This number is for outbound SMS notifications only. For customer support, please email info@ziplove.org.

SMS Delivery Logs

Telnyx may retain SMS delivery logs per their data retention policy but does not store message content.

Prohibited Content

The ZipLove platform does not permit or support any sexually explicit or suggestive SMS conversations. Any violation will result in immediate account termination.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit and at rest
  • Secure server infrastructure
  • Access controls and authentication
  • Regular security audits

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our Service. You may delete your account at any time, which will result in immediate deletion of your information (see Section 7).

  • Messages: Messages are stored until you or the recipient deletes them, or until you delete your account.
  • SMS Opt-In Status: Your SMS consent preferences are stored until you opt out or delete your account.
  • Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, all your data (profile, photos, messages, SMS opt-in status) is permanently deleted immediately.

6. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

6.1 Access and Portability

You can access and download your personal information through your account settings or by contacting us at info@ziplove.org.

6.2 Correction

You can update your profile information at any time through the app.

6.3 Deletion

You can delete your account at any time through the app settings. This will permanently delete all your data immediately. See Section 7 for details.

6.4 Opt-Out of Communications

You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link or by contacting us. You can opt out of SMS notifications by replying STOP to any SMS message. You cannot opt out of essential service communications (e.g., security alerts, account notifications).

6.5 California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. Contact us at info@ziplove.org to exercise these rights.

7. Account Deletion and Data Deletion

You have the right to delete your account and all associated data at any time.

How to Delete Your Account:

  1. Open the ZipLove app
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm deletion

Email us at info@ziplove.org with the subject line "Account Deletion Request"

What Happens When You Delete:

  • Your profile is immediately and permanently deleted
  • All your photos are permanently deleted
  • All your messages are permanently deleted
  • Your SMS opt-in status is deleted (you will stop receiving SMS)
  • Your account cannot be recovered

What We Keep:

  • We may retain minimal information (e.g., transaction records) as required by law for tax/accounting purposes
  • Anonymized analytics data may be retained

8. Children's Privacy

ZipLove is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will immediately delete their account and all associated data.

9.1 Website Cookies

  • Remember your preferences

ZipLove is based in the United States. If you access our Service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy in the app and on our website
  • Sending you an email notification
  • Displaying an in-app notification
